The problem
Copying a table from a web page into a spreadsheet often goes wrong. Columns collapse into one, merged cells leave gaps, footnote markers like [1] end up in your data, and numbers such as $1,234.50 arrive as text that will not add up. You then spend your time cleaning instead of analysing.
How it works
- Find. Click the TableTidy toolbar button. It lists the tables it finds on the page.
- Preview. Pick a table and see what it will look like as a spreadsheet before you take it.
- Copy or export. Copy it to the clipboard and paste into Excel or Google Sheets, or (Pro) download a CSV or Excel file.
What cleanup does (illustration)
Before (typical paste)
Country | Population | GDP Norway[1] | 5,500,000 | $482,000 Norway[1] | 5,500,000 | $482,000 (empty row) Chile | 19,500,000 | $335,500
After (cleaned)
Country | Population | GDP Norway | 5500000 | 482000 Chile | 19500000 | 335500
The example values are made up to show the idea: footnote marker removed, duplicate and empty rows dropped, and numbers converted from text to real numbers.
Free vs Pro
| Feature | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Find tables and preview | Yes | Yes |
| Copy to clipboard (paste into Excel or Google Sheets) | Yes, up to 250 rows | Yes, no row limit |
| Download CSV and Excel (.xlsx) | 5 Pro exports per month | Yes |
| One-click cleanup | Included in your 5 Pro exports | Yes |
| Export every table on a page to one workbook, one sheet per table | Included in your 5 Pro exports | Yes |
One-click cleanup covers: merged cells, footnote markers like [1], currency and thousands separators converted to real numbers, dates fixed into real dates when the meaning is unambiguous, and empty and duplicate rows removed.

Questions
Is it available now?
Not yet. It is not in the Chrome Web Store at the time of writing. Use the launch email link above and we will tell you when it is.
Which browsers does it work in?
Chrome first. Edge is planned for later. We do not support other browsers at this time.
Which websites might not work?
TableTidy is designed for tables that exist on the page. Pages that draw their data in ways that are not real tables, or that only load some rows as you scroll, may not give you the full table. We would rather say so now than have you find out after buying; the free version lets you check a page first.
What do I get for free?
Copying any table to your clipboard, up to 250 rows, plus 5 Pro exports per month so you can try CSV, Excel and cleanup on real pages.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. It is a one-time payment of $19, or $12 at the launch price for early buyers.
How many devices can I use my license on?
Up to 3 devices with one license key.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Every purchase is covered by our 30-day refund policy. See the refund policy or email [email protected].
Does it send my data anywhere?
No. It runs in your browser, table data stays on your computer, and there is no account and no tracking.
